March FDH Lounge News Nuggets
By Rick Morris
We’re adapting a segment that we have used on our show repeatedly in order to try to highlight some of the more intriguing news headlines going today. We have also posted links here for geopolitical headlines in the past and we’ll work this into this theme. Much like The FDH Lounge itself, we’ll try to keep it broad-based as far as what is catching our eye.
^ From Politico, how Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich would have formed a ticket to stop Mitt Romney in 2012 – if only they could have agreed who would run on top.
^ From The Economist, a grim mood in Cyprus as the moment of truth in their grave financial crisis grows near.
^ From Slate, how moves like Rob Portman’s away from support of traditional marriage would split the Republican Party wide open.
^ From the Washington Post, how the IRS is spending money on a Star Trek parody video during the sequester.
^ From Business Insider, there is nothing that can be done about a big asteroid heading for earth (if it happens).
