How do you find room for five more hot dogs after you've downed 59 in 12 minutes? That's a question the rest of us will ponder with horror, but Joey Chestnut managed to get the job done just a fraction of a soggy frankfurter ahead of Japanese legend Kobayashi in order to keep the vaunted yellow belt in American possession on the Fourth of July at Coney Island.
Congratulations to the both of the premier, uh, competitive eaters of their generation and big ups to Chestnut for representing for the red, white and blue on our country's birthday. Just think: Joey Chestnut has done something Phil Mickelson never has: go back-to-back at a major!
