NOTE: This is our annual
Memorial Day tribute from The FDH Lounge.
Veterans have always been
heroes to me, people who put a cause greater than themselves ahead of their own
well-being. This very visceral account of D-Day from Charles Durning tells the
story in all of its honor and horror.
This is the first year we have run this since Mr. Durning passed away
and, in a sense, that makes the recounting of this tale even more important
since he is not around to deliver it anymore.
