By looking at the title of this post, without reading the actual contents, one would think I'm attacking Gov. Sarah Palin's parenting. The title comes from multiple posts on liberal blogs.
If you haven't heard by now, Sarah Palin's 17-year old daughter, Bristol, is pregnant.
What annoys me THE MOST about the left is the peanut gallery of hypocrites. Any time Chelsea Clinton's name was brought up in a negative light since 1992, left wing bloggers, talk show hosts, and politicians were "deeply offended" by any such remarks, and calling it a smear campaign against a family member. But now that Bristol Palin is pregnant out of wedlock, those said groups jumped all over this story the way CNN flocked to the Gulf Coast during Hurricane Gustav, saying that Governor Palin is an irresponsible mother for not only allowing her daughter to get knocked up, but to have a child in her forties. Very classy.
An argument I overheard today was from an Obama supporter, asking why it's not okay to call Governor Palin's parenting into question, but it's fair game to point out Al Gore's son's arrest for possession of marijuana and prescription drugs.
Here's the difference, you silly liberal.
While I do not condone teenage pregnancies, it is not illegal. If the father were a grown adult and she was well under the age of consent, then it would be considered statutory rape, which is obviously illegal. I may not be the brightest bulb in the chandelier, but I believe marijuana is still not legal in these United States of America. So that argument isn't even valid.
Teenage pregnancies do not necessarily mean the parents of the pregnant child are bad parents. I know many girls who come from well-adjusted families who partake in irresponsible activities, and some of those girls did indeed got pregnant.
So to all the left wing bloggers, get your kicks now. Eventually, Joe Biden will run out of attacks during the Vice Presidential Debates, and he'll freeze up like Elliot Spitzer at a press conference.
