FDH Lounge #140: March 22, 2011

By Rick Morris

Once again, variety is how we roll on THE FDH LOUNGE (Tuesdays, 7-10 PM EST on SportsTalkNetwork.com).

After The Opening Statements of The FDH Lounge Dignitaries and This Week in The FDH Lounge, we bring in a longtime sports executive with some fascinating stories to tell: Harvey Schiller. He’s led some very noteworthy organizations, such as Turner Sports (with part of his time at Turner supervising WCW during the last wrestling boom), the SEC, the USOC, Yankees/Nets and the International Baseball Federation. On top of that, he was also a brigadier general in the Air Force and earned the Legion of Merit and Distinguished Flying Cross! Presently, Dr. Schiller is Chairman of the Board and CEO of GlobalOptions Group, a company that battles fraud in the business sector. We’ll talk to him about all aspects of his fascinating career. Before we go to break, we’ll clue you in on an exciting development about dramatically-increased FREE access to a wide cross-section of the show’s best segments.

Hour Two brings us an icon of pop culture: Dominic Chianese, the man whose crowning career role was that of Uncle Junior on The Sopranos. His career spans several decades in theatre, film and television as well as the recording industry. Additionally, his Joy Through Art foundation seeks to leverage the healing power of music and associated forms of entertainment to enrich the lives of nursing home residents. Clearly, he is a man with many awesome stories to tell. From there, old friend Colin Delany of ePolitics comes back on to talk Libya warfare and the struggle to pass a US budget. Will left-of-center Colin and FDH Lounge Dignitaries and noted paleocons Rick Morris and Nate Noy find common ground on the North African plain? We’ll have to find out!

Hour Three will have great NCAA hoops discussion as the tournament rolls on into the second weekend. Is your bracket broken? We’ll have the analysis. Then, THE FANTASY DRAFTHELP.COM INSIDER gets you ready for your forthcoming auctions and drafts with last-minute advice from our new guide FANTASY BASEBALL DRAFTOLOGY 2011.

As always, we urge you to watch the show live (or listen if you’re on dial-up), but if you can’t catch this as it’s happening, you can always catch the FDH archives 24-7 right here or catch us on iTunes. Also, you can sample THE FDH LOUNGE VAULT, a compilation of our best interviews and roundtables, now every weeknight from 6-7 PM, also on SportsTalkNetwork.com.
