Summerslam liveblogging Part VI

By Rick Morris

Batista and Cena delivered a better-than-expected show for the "What Were We Thinking In Hot-Shotting a WrestleMania Main Event Match On The Summerslam Undercard Special." Each hit big moves on the other repeatedly, as Cena put on the FU and STFU and Batista hit his spots as well. At the end, Cena went to the top rope and tried to deliver a flying legdrop -- that turned into a Nuclear Batista Bomb. Another Batista Bomb ended the match with a clean pinfall for The World's Biggest Filipino. That was entirely surprising. For somebody who was booked in completely bulletproof fashion during his last WWE Title run, Cena's sure been doing more than his fair share of jobs this year. Is Cena the one due for a heel turn, notwithstanding shrill kiddies buying his merchandise with mommy and daddy's caysh? We can only hope.

Hell in a Cell is the last match and I'm guessing it's going to be one of the best ones yet, because if the WWE has a shred of self-awareness right now, then they know that they need it to even begin to redeem this PPV. In the always-wise words of my good friend Mike Ptak, "This show hugs the root!"
